2NK Sacco trains drivers on road safety

2NK Sacco recently organized a sensitization workshop for its drivers in a bid to sensitize them on road safety.

2NK Sacco Chairman James Kahiro said this was to prepare them as festive season and the closure of schools approaches.

He noted that it was important for the drivers to be reminded on the need to maintain the right behaviour on the road.

About 1000 drivers were trained during the event with half of them trained on the first day while the second batch underwent training on the second day.

“I hope out of the training, we are going to experience a very big change on our drivers,” he said.

The chairman also called on commuters to use 2NK Sacco vehicles saying they are the best and safe.

“It is my earnest hope and prayer that come December, we are going to close the year without a single incident on the road,” said Kahiro.

The Sacco had invited NTSA, Kenya Police Service Traffic department and a private speaker to talk to the drivers.

The Chairman added that the Sacco is committed in ensuring that its drivers are well behaved.

He said the Sacco has been sensitizing the drivers on the dangers of driving while using mobile phones, drinking, smoking cigarettes or being under the influence of drugs.

The Sacco has a committee that addresses cases of indiscipline among drivers and takes appropriate action.

The institution has been organizing such seminars yearly to help driver change their attitude and the way they relate to people and customers.
