Githunguri Dairy Cooperative (GDC) Sacco has launched a new branch in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
The move has seen a rise in the Sacco’s branches to seven.
Speaking during the Sacco’s 19th Annual General Meeting held at Elysian hotel along Kiambu Road, the Sacco’s Chairman Joseph Mburu revealed that the society had also completed the construction of Githiga branch and moved into the premise.
He added that in addition to their USAID partnership, the Sacco has added additional agencies so as to be closer to its members.
“We have also registered a GDC foundation,” he proudly said.
The chairman cited high cost of ICT infrastructure as one of the major challenges the Sacco is experiencing.
He promised that the Sacco will make significant investments in digital assets and new technologies to improve the overall efficiency and to curb cyber-crime.
Mburu said as a result of capitalization of dividends, the Sacco is grateful because institutional capital increased thereby helping to offset their rental dues.
The Sacco’s CEO Charles Kioko said that the shareholders utilized the Sacco’s products and services well enabling the Sacco to provide steady long-term returns on their investments through a consistent dividend distribution.
