Nyeri Governor Mwalimu Mutahi Kahiga has assured that his County government will support the cooperative movement by implementing innovative strategies and ensuring compliance with regulations.
The Governor made the statement during the 48th Annual General Meeting of the Newfortis Sacco at Nyamakachi Primary School.
“My government will prioritize the promotion of Saccos through enforcement, education, training, information sharing, and advisory services,” he said.
He further announced also that the government recently recruited well-trained officers to drive the county’s cooperative movement forward.
Mwalimu Kahiga also commended Newfortis Sacco for their commendable efforts in promoting a savings culture, responsible borrowing, wealth creation, employment generation, and community development.
He also congratulated all members for their dedication, which has contributed to the significant growth of the Sacco.
” I want to applaud the visionary leadership of the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board that have built trust and value for this great organization,” he said.
Newfortis Sacco has experienced remarkable growth in share capital and non-withdrawable deposits over the years.
Governor Mutahi also revealed that the Nyeri County cooperative movement has a substantial asset base and share capital.
