Governor Kiraitu Murungi has called on all the farmers to embrace saving by joining co-operatives.
He also asked them to join organized and registered groups to enable them benefit financially from both the National and County Governments noting that it is not profitable for an individual to transport or export a commodity to Nairobi and foreign countries.
The county boss urged all the miraa farmers to enroll in the new Miraa Sacco in large numbers so as to have better bargaining power in the market and enable them earn maximum profits from the crop.
Senator Mithika and Members of Parliament Dr Kanyuithia Mutunga and Igembe Central MP Kubai Kirigo advised farmers to embrace research in miraa farming, value addition, proper management and better marketing strategies to enable them benefit fully.
