Kilifi County sets aside Sh1.6m for capacity building for new sacco staff

Kilifi county will spend Sh1.6 million this year to conduct capacity building seminars for newly registered Sacco top officials.

Speaking to Sacco Review , Kilifi County Cooperatives Director, Mr. James Mwasi said the the county will revive five dormant Saccos in the area.

He said the county government will conduct audit clinics for eight saccos in the region this year.

The Cooperative Commissioner revealed that the Audit clinics will be conducted in the county this year in Malindi, Kilifi, Kaloleni areas.

However, Mr Mwasi has urged Saccos in the region to consider assisting coronavirus victims by responding to appeals positively.

He said that four new cooperatives have been registered by the Cooperative Development Ministry in the region.

He added that out of the four registered saccos one is dairy sacco respectively.

Mr Mwasi asked county residents to join saccos in large numbers to uplift their living standards.
