Matatu owners have been urged to ensure they have registered their vehicles with a particular Sacco before engaging in the transport business.
According to the National Vice Chairman of the Matatu Owners Association Steve Murunga, by being a member of a Sacco it is easier to control vehicles and in case they break transport laws, the Sacco will be held responsible on their behalf and will be penalized.
Speaking to Sacco Review recently during a safety awareness forum in Eldoret town organized by Isuzu, INVESCO and the Matatu Owners Association, Murunga urged matatu owner across the county to ensure that their drivers and conductors comply with the law.
