Taifa Sacco share drive oversubscribed

Drive nets Sh 102 million

Taifa Sacco has announced that its recently closed share drive was oversubscribed having netted Sh102.5 million from its members.
The Sacco which was targeting to raise Sh100 million in the promotion dubbed ‘Digitika Na Taifa Sacco Shares Promotion’ surpassed the target by over Sh2 million.
The Sacco has more than 120,000 members with deposits of Sh2.5 billion and 16 branches countrywide, Taifa Sacco sales and marketing manager, Geoffrey Ritho told Sacco Review.
Ritho added that the Sacco had opened new branches in Nairobi, Nyahururu, Nairutia and Wiyumiririe areas this year.
“We are planning to open other branches in Naivasha and Nakuru towns,” he said.
Taifa Sacco has its headquarters in Nyeri. Established in 1974, the farmers and traders Sacco has set its sights on having presence at least in 20 counties.
During the promotional exercise, fabulous prizes worth more than Sh1 million were won.
During the main draw held in Nyeri town recently, David Maina from Nairobi won a 52 inch Smart Samsung Television while Rumukia Farmers Society from Mukurweini won a 48 inch Smart Samsung Television.
Anthony Wainaina from Kieni also won a 32 inch Smart Samsung Television.
