One of Baringo County’s oldest Co-operative societies, Tugen Hills Farmers Sacco has embarked on recruitment of members to strengthen the society.
Formed on June 10, 1964 the society blossomed in early 1960s and 1970s, increasing its membership through engaging in various activities among them coffee, pyrethrum farming and milk production.
Talking to Sacco Review in an exclusive interview recently, the Sacco Chairman, Erick Bargorett (pictured) who was accompanied by society official, Gideon Chepsergon said that over the years the Sacco has transformed the lives of local farmers in Tenges, Kabarnet, Barwessa, Kipsaraman and Kabartonjo and other areas.
He said Tugen Hill Farmers had established coffee factories in Isaas, Katimok, Kapkawa, Tenges, Seretunin and Talai.
