Tuiyotich Farmers Co-operative Society Ltd is set to reap big from rising milk volumes after the society purchased an Isuzu pick-up truck to transport the milk.
The society has also embarked on sensitization of members to embrace better animal husbandry. Through partnership with the Uasin Gishu County’s Enterprise Development Fund, the society purchased an Isuzu pick-up truck which is used in collecting milk from the farmers. During a meeting held in the society’s premises, the County Chief Executive Committee Member for Trade Department of Cooperatives, Phillip Melly advised farmers to adopt modern dairy farming to increase milk production.
“The County Government is committed towards partnering with the society to better the lives of farmers who are the major players in the economy of the county,” Melly said.
On his part, the County Director for Enterprise Development Fund, Isaac Lagat who also graced the meeting applauded the farmers for their achievements.
