Two new cooperative societies have been registered in Kwale County

Two new Cooperative societies have been registered in Kwale county by the Cooperative Development Ministry officials to enable county residents join them in large numbers to uplift their living standards, Sacco Review has learnt.

Speaking to Sacco Review from Kwale town recently, Kwale county Cooperative director, Mohammed Mkanga said that the county is currently in the process of registering more new cooperative societies in the region.

He further urged Women and youth in the county to cooperate fully and form Cooperative Societies and invest heavily to enable them to get bigger loans to implement their personal development projects.

The cooperative director, however, advised Sacco members in the county to borrow loans wisely and pay promptly so as to enable other members to benefit from the same loan products.

However Mkanga further warned Sacco members against defaulting, arguing that anybody found to have defaulted would immediately be referred to Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) and will be blacklisted and will not be given a loan forever.

At the same time, the director asked Sacco members in the region to remain united and patronize their Saccos to enable them to offer quality services to them in a professional manner (way).

He also advised county residents to come forward and join Cooperative societies in large numbers to uplift their living standards. “Joining cooperative societies is the right way to go for sustainable stability and prosperity,” he noted.
