Kajiado County women and boda boda operators have been empowered with financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills that will help them gain wealth, survive economic shocks, and manage their finances better.
The Financial Inclusion in Kenya and Tanzania (FIKT) Project by the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations (ACCOSCA) and Visa is aimed at bridging the financial inclusion gap for women to create a more inclusive financial system that benefits everyone, regardless of gender or social status.
ACCOSCA is increasing women’s access to financial services which allows them to have better control over financial resources thus improving independence and mobility.

The confederation is unlocking women’s potential through financial inclusion in Africa as a strategy aimed at tackling the significant socio-economic barriers that constrain women’s ability to contribute meaningfully to their communities, countries and continental development.
When women have access to financial resources, they gain control over their economic lives, leading to improved livelihoods, increased decision-making power, and enhanced overall well-being.
ACCOSCA which is a Pan-African confederation of national associations of savings and credit cooperatives societies underscores the pivotal role that financial inclusion plays in shaping a more equitable and empowered future, particularly for women in Africa.
