- KALRO showcases farming technologies to farmers during an Embu agricultural clinic
- Farmers learn about soil fertility, biotechnology and certified seed use

The Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) has showcased new technologies aimed at boosting food production in Embu County.
The innovations are also meant to improve farmers’ livelihoods. KALRO’s Food Crops Research Centre (FCRC) in Embu took part in this year’s Multi Sectoral Clinic, held at Runyenjes Main Stadium. The clinic was held under the theme “Sowing Seeds of Progress: Integrating Health, Wealth and Agriculture.”
The event was organised by the Embu County Professionals Development Association (ECPDA). It brought together farmers and other stakeholders from the region to explore opportunities in agriculture, healthcare and financial empowerment. ECPDA Chairman Dickmoline Muguchu graced the event.

During the clinic, KALRO showcased a range of technologies, innovations and management practices designed to enhance agricultural productivity. They included integrated soil fertility management, biotechnology and the use of certified seeds.
Farmers also received information on accessing agricultural knowledge and services through digital platforms. These platforms were developed to support informed farming practices.
KALRO said the technologies and information shared are aimed at improving productivity, resilience and livelihoods among farmers across Kenya.
Overall, the clinic provided a platform for farmers to interact with agricultural experts. They also learned about practical solutions that can help address challenges affecting food production.
