Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE) sold 15,072 bags on October 13, 2026, earning Ksh695 million as buyers cleared almost every lot offered.
Sale 2 of the 2026/2027 season brought 958 lots from 15 marketing agents to the floor. Together they weighed 932,861 kg. Gross value reached US$5.35 million, and the average price settled at US$287 for every 50kg bag.
For growers, that figure matters most when converted into farm terms. It works out to roughly Ksh745 for each kilogramme of clean coffee. Applying the usual 6.5 conversion from cherry, farmers would be looking at about Ksh115 per kilogramme of cherry. However, milling, marketing and cooperative deductions still come out of that amount before money reaches the farmer.
Demand was strong across the board. Only 18 lots, equal to 97 bags, drew no bid, and most of those were low grades such as ML and UG2. Buyers took everything else. AA averaged US$333 a bag, while AB followed closely at US$320. AB also made up the largest share of the day’s volume, at 6,401 bags. Meanwhile, the highest price went to an AA lot, which sold for US$397.

Certified coffee carried a modest edge. Lots bearing Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, C.A.F.E. Practices or organic credentials totalled 2,057 bags, or 14% of the sale. They averaged US$305 against US$286 for uncertified coffee, a lead of about 7%.
That gap narrows sharply once grades are compared like for like. Certified AA earned about US$9 more, AB about US$10, C about US$9 and PB just US$4. By contrast, the margin widened on lower grades, reaching US$46 on TT and US$60 on T.
Among the labels, Fairtrade lots averaged US$319 and Rainforest Alliance lots US$311. RA-EUDR lots did best, at US$325. The top certified price was US$354, again for an AA lot.
