Githunguri Dairy and Community (GDC) Sacco has rolled out agency banking to become the first sacco to launch this service in Kiambu County.
Also, in an effort to bring services closer to its 23, 318 members, GDC, after authorisation by Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA), will now offer insurance agency services.
These achievements were revealed by the Sacco’s outgoing Chairman, Joseph Kiiru during its 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Githunguri Stadium recently.
To further enhance its vision of being a financial institution of choice, providing competitive financial solutions to its members and stakeholders, GDC members can now pay their Kenya Power prepaid and post paid bills at any branch.
With a customized ATM, members will also be able to withdraw cash from any bank countrywide.
Pensioners and the salaried can also channel their payments through the Sacco via the Pension and Salary Code 99158.
The Chairman observed that the Sacco has been aggressively looking for potential areas to open new branches.
