Deputy Commissioner for Cooperatives Development and Marketing Stanley Ongeti has lauded Boresha Sacco for its major strides in branch expansion beyond its base.
Speaking the 27thAnnual Delegates Meeting held in Eldama Ravine, the Commissioner said that Boresha Sacco is among a group of large Saccos across the country due to its resource mobilisation and Membership base.
“Boresha Sacco is in the category of the Co-operative Societies operating nationally, joining Co-operative Bank of Kenya, CIC Insurance Group, Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Co-operatives Ltd among many more,” he stated
The Commissioner observed that co-operative societies liberalised economic activities, adding that the growth of Saccos in Kenya stood to benefit from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four agenda.
County Governor Mr Stanley Kiptis who also attended the Annual Delegates Meeting applauded teachers, the pioneers who established the Sacco.
He acknowledged members and delegates who endorsed the construction of Marigat Plaza during the well attended educational meetings in a bid to tap the business potential in the fast growing Sub County of Baringo County.
“Marigat is a business town with huge business potential hence I called upon the management to move with speed by identifying the financier to construct the multi million project,” added the Governor.
The Chief Executive Officer Moses Chebor said that Sacco’s presently operate in rapidly changing environment with market trends and dynamics changing fast due to competition, legislation, standards and the ever changing technology.
“To satisfy our members’ expectations amidst these business challenges calls for continued dynamism in strategies. This way, it shall be possible to continue retaining members’ loyalty and patronage despite the alternatives in the market,” he noted.
