Buzeki pledges to revamp Co-operative sector

Billionaire businessman and Uasin Gishu governor aspirant, Kiprop Bundotich popularly known as Buzeki plans to revamp the Co-operative sector in the county, if elected.
He said he would do this by giving more funds to the sector and emphasizing value addition.
Buzeki said the only way to empower farmers is through Co-operative sector since it is closely related to agricultural activities.
He added that if elected, he will ensure that farmers are guided on efficient use of Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies (Saccos) as a way of improving their livelihoods.
Buzeki, a major dairy farmer said he will distribute free milk to all primary schools for five years as a way of promoting the Co-operative and Education sectors. He said this will make children enjoy their studies as well as motivate milk farmers.
The businessman who still owns part of Molo Dairy made the observation when he launched his campaign at Ziwa Market recently.
He said the sector has a great potential of creating jobs for youths since young people will be empowered to set up their own viable milk business.
