Nyanza Regional Commissioner Flora Mworoa has lauded farmers and entrepreneurs for their superb display of innovative agribusiness ideas that seek to address the problem of climate change and enhance food security.
Speaking during the Kisumu Regional Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Show held at Mamboleo ASK Grounds, Mworoa, who represented Interior Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo, said the exhibitions are in line with this year’s ASK show theme of Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth.
She noted confidently that those who attended the event will benefit immensely from modern farming techniques, value addition and trade, as well as learn ways to mitigate climate change issues.
ASK Kisumu branch Chairperson George Ong’udi said the event provided area residents with an opportunity to learn more about the agricultural food chain in the area.
Exhibitors included the Communication Authority, The Kenya National Highways Authority, the Kenya Airports Authority, KASNEB, KEBS, Kenya Forest Service, Kenya Seed Company Limited, JOOUST, Kenya Ports Authority, Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council, Kenya National Housing Corporation, Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation and Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency among other state and non-state agencies.
