Curtain falls on Tower Sacco Vice-Chair

Tower Sacco Board’s Vice-Chair Mr. Benson Chege Ruhang’a has passed on.

It is reported that Mr. Chege passed on while undergoing treatment at Nakuru War Memorial Hospital.

Until his death on 1st November 2020, Chege doubled up as Vice-Chair and head teacher at Gituru Primary School in Naivasha.

With 42 years of experience on Sacco matters, Mr. Chege contributed immensely to the Sacco’s growth.

Chege will be remembered for assisting the Sacco in attaining numerous achievements most notably being the most improved and fastest growing Sacco nationally in 2017 where the Sacco emerged the first and being rated as the overall best Sacco in Nyandarua County with FOSA products during the International Co-operative Day.

Chege assisted the Sacco greatly making in giving it a national outlook by setting up branches in 5 counties which include; Nyandarua, Nakuru, Laikipia, Samburu and a marketing office at Mtwapa in Kilifi with smaller satellites offices in the interior parts of Nyandarua County.

On the other hand, he was among the editorial board of the Sacco Tower Magazine.

He will be laid to rest on 5th November in his home in Githabai village in Wanjohi Nyandarua County.
