New Co-operative and MSMEs Cabinet Secretary (CS) Wycliffe Oparanya has warned of his resignation from the Kenya Kwanza administration if his recommendations are not implemented.
Speaking at Mariakani Church of God in South B on Sunday, August 11, 2024, Oparanya emphasized that his appointment by President Ruto was based on his extensive experience and track record.
The former Kakamega Governor highlighted his commitment to assisting the government in serving Kenyans effectively. However, he made it clear that he would reconsider his position if his advice and proposals are not acted upon.
“The people who hail from Kakamega know the work I did, so they have seen that this old man can help us with work. I will help them, but if they ignore my advice, I will quit the job,” Oparanya said.
Oparanya is among five officials from the opposition party who were recently appointed to new Cabinet.
Along with 19 other Cabinet Secretary nominees, Oparanya was recently vetted by the National Assembly’s Committee on Appointments.
The appointments were confirmed and the nominees sworn into office by the President on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at State House.
