Nairobi International Trade Fair opens with climate smart farming focus

  • More than 500 exhibitors are showcasing products, technology and services
  • Climate smart farming and export opportunities are taking centre stage at the fair
  • Jamhuri Park is undergoing upgrades as organisers prepare for growing trade activity

The Nairobi International Trade Fair has opened at Jamhuri Park today with over 500 exhibitors, a climate smart theme and a sharp push for exports.

The seven day show runs from September 28 to October 4, 2026, at the Jamhuri Park Showground off Ngong Road. Organisers say the venue is ready.

This year’s fair runs under the banner “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth”, the same theme used in 2025. Fair chairman Levi Mukhweso said the event remains a key stage for showing products, technology and ideas, while opening doors to business and partnerships. He tied the theme directly to climate smart farming, trade and lasting economic growth.

Organisers want farming knowledge, technology and capital to meet in one place, rather than sit in separate rooms.

The exhibitor list reaches well beyond the farm gate. Companies from agriculture, manufacturing, technology, education, hospitality, construction, real estate and textiles will exhibit, alongside small and medium enterprises. Finance, insurance and logistics firms have also taken space. Participants from more than 25 countries are expected.

Inside the grounds, the layout splits into livestock and crop demonstrations, local manufacturers and services, and international exhibition halls. Visitors can also expect farm machinery displays, dairy demonstrations and family entertainment.

Business links are a big part of this year’s pitch. Floice Mukabana, CEO of the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency, said the fair helps Kenyan firms build a stronger footing at home, in the region and abroad. Organisers are working to connect local businesses with investors, customers and international markets.

For small businesses, that could mean a rare week of direct access to buyers and financiers under one roof.
