Kilifi County Co-operative Commissioner Mary Mukare has described Imarika Sacco as one of the fastest growing Sacco in the country.
She said that the Sacco which comprises members from all walks of life both in the formal and informal sectors, teachers, farmers, business community and Micro-Small-Enterprises (SME) ,has continued to post impressive growth and as at the end of 2017 it had active members with deposits totaling over Sh4.526 billion.
She spoke during the Sacco’s opening of Bamba branch in Ganze Sub-county.
The Sacco has a total asset base of Sh6.673 billion and a turnover of Sh1.210 billion.
Noting that Imarika had leveraged the use of ICT in the provision of its services to increase efficiency, she said that Ganze Sub-county residents could access the services from all the seven branches comfortably.
“We have continued to witness the growth of Imarika from the day it just operated in Kilifi town alone and steadily spreading its wings to Malindi, Kaloleni, Mariakani, Mtwapa, Garsen, Ukunda and Bamba today. The branch we have launched will bring the size of Imarika network to seven branches”, she added.
The Imarika Sacco Board of Directors Chairman Reinson Ndoro said that his board appreciated Bamba branch members for joining the co-operative movement.
“Without the residents supporting it we cannot succeed since without them, there will be no branch here. I assure you that with your continued commitment we will be providing better services to you in accordance to our motto ‘Together we Grow’ forever,” Ndoro said.
