Over ten Community Based Organizations and hundreds of individuals across Machakos County have received direct capital injection courtesy of the county government in form of car wash machines, seats and tents for hire, parasols and climate smart cooking jikos among other items.
The items were issued by Finance and Economic Planning County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Onesmus Kuyu and his counterpart Gender, Youth, Sports and Social Welfare CECM John Kilonzo in Masinga and Athi-river Sub-Counties respectively.
Speaking in Ndithini, Masinga Sub-County recently,Finance CECM Kuyu said the direct capital injection was in line with Governor Wavinya Ndeti’s clarion call of ‘Chakula Mezani, Pesa Mfukoni’ which is a socio-economic empowerment policy aimed at ensuring food sufficiency and improved income to households across the county.
He explained that the beneficiaries will save funds which would otherwise have gone into purchase of the assets.
