Nyandarua County Government will support the co-operative movements and individual groups through a revolving fund in order to enhance economic emancipation in the area
This was revealed by the CEC in charge of Youth Gender and Co-operatives in Governor Francis Kimemia’s government, Muthoni Wamuiya when she represented the Governor in the 42 the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for Tower Sacco in Olkalau town recently.
She said that the revolving fund will be aimed at reaching out to registered groups of young people with disability and women groups within the county. She said that the Governor had also talked of introducing a men fund which will also be incorporated in the same schedule to ensure that the county locals are empowered economically.
Gabriel Githinji Tower Sacco CEO said that they are in talks with the County Government to see that their vibrant Sacco is given the mandate to collect the Nyandarua County Government levy as they have proven beyond reasonable doubts that they are indeed capable.
He recalled that in 2015 the Sacco was nominated as the best Sacco in the poverty eradication cash transfer programme by the National Government.
