Cooperative stakeholders in Rift Valley Region have commended President William Ruto for nominating Wycliffe Oparanya for the position of Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs Development.
Led by former Boresha Sacco Chief Executive Officer Moses Chebor,the Cooperative stakeholders said Oparanya is a well-experienced leader who will perform in the sector.
Chebor said Oparanya has a good track record in economic development in any docket that he has been assigned before.
Oparanya’s tenure as Minister of National Planning and Economic Development was a tremendous legacy in terms of planning for the country’s economic development.
As Kakamega county governor for two terms,he has been been lauded a lot of his development record in the County.
Chebor urged Oparanya to support Cooperative societies and Small and Medium Enterprises which are backbones of the country.
He also urged Oparanya to revive farmers cooperatives societies by ensuring that farmers receive quality fertilizers to improve their production.
Chebor also urged Kenyans especially youths to understand that the country needs well-experienced people to improve the economic status of the nation.
Oparanya was nominated on Tuesday by Ruto , his name will be tabled in the National Assembly for vetting.
