The County Government of Kajiado, Department of Livestock, Agriculture, Fisheries, and Irrigation has trained Sacco leaders on the management of Saccos. The Sacco leaders, who represent three Kajiado West Saccos, were taken through leadership, governance, grant management guidelines, and the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The training was conducted at the NITA Institute in Kitengela Sub County, where participants were introduced to several topics aimed at strengthening their cooperatives.
The Sacco leaders, the majority of whom were youth, were sensitized on the overarching National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP) principles of inclusion and equity in SACCO operations, to ensure that vulnerable groups, especially women, smallholder farmers, and young entrepreneurs, can access affordable credit.

The MoUs will define the relationships, roles, and responsibilities of and between CDDCs and Saccos. The County Government will oversee the successful execution of the MoUs.
The three Saccos participating in the training were Iloodokilani Laramatak Sacco, Dupoto ee Mosiro Sacco, and Emunyani Farmers Sacco (Keekonyokie).
