UN Sacco was recently
declared the
first runners up in
the annual Financial Reporting
(FiRe) Awards 2016.
This was during an award
ceremony and Gala Dinner
held at the Windsor Golf and
Country Club, Nairobi-the
15th edition of this event.
The award ceremony was
preceded by a conference
at Safari Park Hotel whose
theme was Governance for
Excellence and Reliability
in Financial Reporting in
East Africa.
The FiRe Award is the most
prestigious and coveted
Award in East Africa for financial
reporting. This award
aims to promote financial
reporting excellence, foster
sound corporate governance
practices and enhance corporate
social investment and
environmental reporting.
“Given that UN Sacco
membership is global with
a number of members in
the diaspora, it builds their
confidence to know that
not only does their SACCO
comply with the regulatory
standards in Kenya but it
also complies with the International
Financial Reporting
Standards,” said Evelyn
Olunja-Head of Marketing,
UN Sacco.
