Women asked to seek leadership positions in Saccos

Universal Traders Sacco Chair Fredrick Ngumbi has called on women to vie for positions in Saccos in the country.

The chair who was speaking during UTS Member Education Day in Tala, Machakos County noted that apart from joining Saccos as members women should be in the frontline in vying for positions.

He said Universal Traders Sacco gives women a chance to be leaders and ensures that two thirds gender principle is applied.

The Sacco CEO Dominic Mutunga said women members who have met the minimum eligibility requirements to come out and applies for positions including being delegates of their Saccos.

He also challenged the Gen Z who have been expressing their opinion about leadership in the country to also seek for positions in the Saccos. The CEO noted e that members should also enroll their children to join the Sacco and invest in their future.

The CEO urged Sacco members to take loans and invest in businesses as this will see growth of the Saccos.

The Sacco offer well-structured and affordable products and services geared at meeting the needs of our clientele who range from farmers, micro-entrepreneurs, civil servants, self-help groups and associations.

During the Education Day, the UTS, SACCO members elected delegates who will represent them in crucial meetings.
