Chuka based Trans-Nation Sacco is set to officially launch two branches in Marsabit County in a bid to take services closer to their customers.
Speaking during its 27th Annual General Meeting held at Mwalimu Park in Chuka town, the Sacco Chairman Mr Bedford Miriti Mutegi said that after establishing a branch in Isiolo, the society had seen a reason to expand services further North.
“We are in the process of venturing into the sixth county (Marsabit) by establishing a branch in both Marsabit and Moyale towns. This will put smiles on the faces of many of our members who travel a long distance to access the services at Isiolo town. We have also been able to establish over 40 Sacco agents across our branch networks thereby bringing services closer to our members,” said Mutegi.
He said they had established close to 14 branches and satellites in five counties, promising to continue to advance its technology to enable it serve its wide clientele with speed and convenience in a secure environment.
“The year 2019 saw the Sacco roll out agency banking in all its areas of operation. This service has enabled us to reach areas that are a challenge to the establishment of a branch,” he said, singling out Sololo area in Marsabit that has fully embraced such operations.
He said the Sacco was able to move a number of its products to their internet banking platform (TN member portal), including FOSA and self-guaranteed loans, salary and dividends advances, normal salary advances, Okoa salary advances and Inua Biashara loans.
He urged members to embrace the technologies to fully enjoy the many products and services.
“Digital platforms and expansion come with a fair share of challenges especially on cyber security and fraud. I urge you to be careful with the personal information that you share as this may threaten the integrity of your data,” said the chairman.
The Sacco has also established its own Virtual Private Network that has highly enhanced inter-branch connectivity, thus improving service delivery and cutting connectivity costs.
