Lamu livestock farmers urged to join Saccos

Livestock Farmers in Lamu County have been urged to join Saccos to boost their financial needs.

Speaking to Sacco Review from Lamu town recently, Lamu County Cooperative Auditor Mr. Nickson Baya asked the livestock farmers to join Saccos in the county and invest heavily to enable them get bigger loans at the end of the transaction period.

He further revealed that Lamu County has three livestock farmers’ Saccos namelyWitu Livestock Farmers Sacco, Bargoi Livestock Sacco and Mokuwe Livestock Sacco.

The county Cooperative auditor said Lamu County has great potential for livestock farming and production.

He encouraged livestock farmers to work as teams and maximize production in the region.

“The livestock farmers can sell their livestock to Kenya Meat Commission at Kibarani in Mombasa County to get money and educate their children,” he added.

The County Cooperative Auditor also disclosed that it was through joining Saccos that people can prosper.

He said many people have managed to accomplish their personal development projects through taking loans from their respective Saccos.
