IG (Invest & Grow) Sacco Society LTD is counting losses after robbers broke into their offices in Malava in Kakamega County making away valuables.
The robbers had accessed the cash room where millions were stored and moved the safe box out with the intent of running away with it but failed due to its weight.
The robbers instead resorted to making away with the computers, abandoning the safe box outside the Sacco premises.
Reacting to the incident residents of Malava are now blaming officers for sleeping on the job.
They said cases of insecurity in Malava have been on the rise in recent times. They said officers led by OCS for Malava have failed in their duties
“Cases of insecurity in this are are on the rise, yet the police walk around in bars and drinking dens to collect bribes, and running after boda boda riders; they have failed to provide security at night,” said an angry resident .
The police are investigating the matter to bring books culprits.
