The Machakos Youth Empowerment Program (MYEP) will enroll 1500 youths in July following successful completion of training of the inaugural cohort of 1000 youths in April.
Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti said the program has attracted Ksh20 Million sponsorship from the Kenya Commercial Bank.
Speaking at AIC Katoloni in Machakos on during a fundraising event for construction of proposed Deputy County Commissioner offices, Governor Ndeti said the County Government was also procuring equipment to support those who had completed the MYEP training so as to start various enterprises.

She commended the church for guiding and supporting the youth in various ways adding that the youths were not leaders of tomorrow but are leaders of today.
The Governor committed to support the equipping of AIC Katoloni ECDE center with playing tools and learning material.
The ECDE center has 78 children enrolled.
