Four new Cooperative societies have been registered in Magarini Sub County in Kilifi County by the Cooperative Development Ministry.
Speaking to Sacco Review from Gongoni town recently, Magarini sub county Cooperative Officer, Edward Fondo said that the four newly registered Cooperative Societies were registered between the months of March and June this year.
He also disclosed that county government is currently in the process of reviving the giant collapsed Magarini Sand and Harvesting Cooperative Society to enable residents to join it in large numbers and invest heavily to uplift their living standards.
The sub county Cooperative Officer further advised Women and Youth to cooperate fully and form Saccos to uplift their living standards.

Fondo further asked residents in the sub county to come forward and join Saccos near them and invest heavily, hence get bigger loans to implement their personal development projects.
“The Cooperative Movement plays an important role in the country that of uplifting living standards of people”, observed the Cooperative Officer.
Additionally, he advised Saccos in the sub county to ensure good leadership and good governance to enhance effective operations.
