Joinas Sacco Society is recruiting a teller for its Karuri branch, seeking a candidate with cash handling experience and a diploma in finance or a related field.
The successful candidate will receive, verify, and post members’ cash and cheque deposits over the counter. They will also process loan repayments and cash withdrawals, subject to identification checks and confirmation of sufficient balances.
Beyond routine transactions, the teller will maintain cash holdings within approved limits and keep accurate daily records. Safe custody of cash and documents before handover to designated custodians also falls under the role.
Compliance duties feature prominently too. The teller must observe Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering requirements, alongside internal policies. Handling member information will require strict confidentiality in line with the Data Protection Act, 2019.

Other duties include reconciling daily cash transactions, surrendering excess cash above the authorised limit to the Treasury, and processing agency banking transactions such as M-Pesa.
Joinas Sacco wants a candidate holding a diploma in banking, finance, accounting, business administration, cooperative management, or Certified Public Accountant Part I or II. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline will count as an added advantage.
Applicants should have between one and two years of experience in a teller, cashier, or customer service role. Prior exposure to a Sacco, microfinance institution, or commercial bank will also work in a candidate’s favour.
The Sacco further expects strong numerical accuracy, proficiency in core banking systems, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Interested candidates should submit an application letter, detailed curriculum vitae, National ID, academic and professional certificates, and contacts of three referees.
Applications go to the Chairman, Joinas Sacco Society, P.O. Box 669–00219, Karuri. Alternatively, candidates may email hr@joinassacco.com or hand deliver applications to Kanja House, Banana.
The deadline falls at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Applicants must indicate their current and expected salary in the application letter.
Only shortlisted candidates will receive a response, and canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification, the Sacco warned.
