The successful candidate will provide first-line technical support and maintain core banking and network infrastructure. In addition, the person will ensure members and staff receive prompt, professional assistance.

Beyond academic papers, the Sacco lists a broad technical skill set. Networking covers local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) work, router and switch configuration, closed-circuit television (CCTV) and biometrics.
Support duties span Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Office and email setup. The role also calls for basic Structured Query Language (SQL), backups and restoration. Data protection, antivirus and basic cybersecurity are equally important.
Hardware troubleshooting for printers and computers is part of the job. Interestingly, the role also includes content creation, with social media monitoring and engagement.
Candidates should have one to two years’ experience in IT support or a helpdesk. Experience in a Sacco, microfinance institution or bank is highly preferred.
Soft skills matter too. The Sacco wants good customer service, especially for members who are not tech savvy. Problem-solving skills are also key for diagnosing and resolving user and system issues. Integrity, confidentiality and professionalism complete the list.
Applicants should send an application letter, curriculum vitae and copies of their academic and professional certificates to hr@joinassacco.com. The email subject line should read “ICT Assistant”. Candidates must also state their current and expected salary.
