- Ndege Chai Sacco members face changes as three more ATMs near closure
- ATM services at selected stations will end later this year
- Members are advised to switch to mobile banking and nearby branches for transactions
Ndege Chai Savings and Credit Co-operative Society Limited has notified its members that Co-operative Bank will decommission automated teller machines (ATMs) at three more locations, with services ending on November 30, 2026.
In a notice to members and unit delegates, the Sacco said Co-operative Bank assessed the performance and profitability of the ATMs it has installed countrywide, including those within Browns Plantations (K) Ltd. According to the bank’s report, a number of the machines are operating below capacity and are expensive to maintain, making them loss making to the bank.
The bank has already decommissioned the ATMs at Tinderet and Lemotit farm. It has now written to the Sacco informing it of its intention to decommission the machines at Kinumbe, Changana and Chomogonday/Medical. ATM services at these three stations will cease effective November 30, 2026.
