The 101st Ushirika Day celebrations held at KICC saw different Saccos bag awards for excellent performance in various categories.
Mentor Sacco emerged the winner in Best Sacco in Risk Management category where Mwalimu National Sacco and Yetu Sacco took position two and three respectively.
In Best Managed Sacco across the country, Kenya National Police DT SACCO came first followed by United Nations DT Sacco and Cooperative Bank Sacco at positions two and three respectively.
In deposit management, Sholloyes Regulated NWTD Sacco came first, followed by Cooperative Bank Sacco at position two and Kenpipe Sacco at position three.
The trophy for the most efficient Sacco countrywide went to Equity Sacco. Ukaguzi Sacco and Cooperative Bank Sacco bagged position two and three respectively.
In other categories like best Sacco in capitation countrywide; Bingwa Sacco led the race as Muki Sacco and Ports DT Sacco took positions two and three respectively.
Safaricom Sacco led in the best Sacco in Technology Optimization overtaking United Nations DT Sacco at second and Stima DT Sacco at position three.
Karura Community Sacco won the most improved Sacco category with Shaeco Sacco settling at position two and Kenya USA Diaspora Sacco at position three.
The 101st Ushirika Day celebrations were graced by president Dr. William Ruto and the Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and Micro and Small Enterprise Simon Chelugui .
The theme of the event was Cooperatives: Partners for Accelerated Sustainable Development” celebrating the 101 years of Cooperatives existence.
