Boresha Sacco gets another woman on its board

A woman has been elected by the delegates of Boresha Sacco to serve on the Board of Directors.
The election of Farida Haji to the fast growing Sacco put Boresha among few Sacco’s which have embraced the gender balance rule.
Speaking during the election of the new board member at the educational meeting of members held in Marigat, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Moses Chebor lauded the move saying democracy exhibited by the members has realised election of leaders of their choice.
Mr. Chebor advised the delegates and members to be positive and vibrant for posterity of Boresha Sacco.
Boresha Vice Chairman Mr. Kipruto Kiptoo congratulated the members for conducting a free and fair election process.
He urged members to give her necessary support to enable her exercise her role in the Board of Directors.
The new Board member lauded members for trusting her leadership to the board of directors on account that she has received numerous accolades when she served them as a delegate.
‘‘This is a milestone achievement that has been realised by members to trust women to top positions in the Sacco. I desire to advocate sustainability and member retention in the Sacco,’’ said the new board member.
Ms Haji replaced the late Michael Cherono who served for 30 years as a delegate and board member diligently and honestly.
