Co-op Bank scoops this year’s top sustainable finance award

Coop Bank

The Cooperative Bank of Kenya has been ranked the best for demonstrating sustained commitment to driving a positive impact on the environment through sustainable lending practices.

The bank, for the fourth time in six years, has scooped the Top 2023 Overall Sustainable Finance Catalyst Award, confirming its commitment to financial sustainability.

The results were released during the 7th edition of the Sustainable Finance Initiative Catalyst Awards ceremony organized by the Kenya Bankers Association (KBA) in partnership with FSD-Kenya today.

“Cooperative Bank of Kenya scooped the top 2023 Overall Sustainable Finance award, followed by Equity Bank Kenya and Absa Bank Kenya, respectively,” the KBA statement read.

The annual award was established by KBA in 2016 to provide firms with a unique opportunity to showcase their industry leadership and their role in promoting sustainable development.

This is in line with the Association’s commitment to recognize financial sector players for their commendable progress in creating long-term value for their clients, firms, economies and the environment under its Sustainable Finance Initiative (SFI) Catalyst Awards.
