The Coffee market at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE) has resumed its weekly auction following the December break, netting Ksh1.5 billion from the sale of 24,890 bags sourced from estates and cooperative societies.
This follows a strong performance between October and December 16, where the auction generated Ksh 9.3 billion from 150,008 bags. In the latest session, coffee brokers delivered 7,929 bags of grade AA, 10,789 bags of grade AB, and 2,290 bags of grade C, which together fetched Ksh 1.3 billion at an average price of Ksh 43,310 per bag.

Alliance Berries Ltd emerged as the leading broker, marketing 9,803 bags—including the highest volumes of quality coffee with 3,419 bags of grade AA and 4,250 bags of AB—for a total of Ksh 617.6 million. Other top-performing brokers included Kirinyaga Slopes, which moved 3,252 bags for Ksh 204 million, New KPCU with 2,924 bags for Ksh 178.4 million, and CEBBA with 1,732 bags for Ksh 105.6 million.
Among the factories, Gatiu achieved the highest individual price of Ksh 62,954 per bag for 10 bags of grade AA, followed closely by Gikirima at Ksh 60,864 and Gicherori at Ksh 60,735, all marketed by Alliance Berries Ltd.
