Uasin Gishu County Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Chief Officer Ruth Samoei has announced that her docket is working on a plan to award Boda boda Saccos operating within Eldoret Central Business District.
Speaking during the donation of branded umbrellas and reflector jackets to 14 Saccos conducted by the county Department of Trade, Industrialization, Tourism, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development in conjunction with the Noble Sacco, Samoei said that the county will award Saccos with best managed, best organized and best services for starters, before unveiling more categories and more prizes.
She asked the riders to ensure they upgrade and always maintain their motorbikes in optimal condition to reduce the risk of causing accidents.
Speaking on behalf of Cooperatives Commissioner David Obonyo, Drucilla Cherogony challenged Sacco leaders to observe integrity when dealing with members’ funds.
“As leaders, you need to organize education forums for your members to grow their knowledge on finances and investments,” she added.
Cooperatives Officer Shadrack Rotich noted that new stages will soon be unveiled and urged all riders to ensure they deposit their monthly dues promptly.
