Kericho county Chief Officer for Agriculture Willy Rop has urged farmers in the region to cooperate with agripreneurs in the ongoing data collection exercise.
He stressed that it’s important to provide accurate farm information since it helps the government plan its projects.
Some of the data required include farmer identity, land size, technology, management practices, finances and services.
This data influences decisions on farm inputs, subsidized fertilizers and more.
Area governor Dr. Erick Mutai emphasized the need for accurate statistics and the practice of modern farming methods.
He stated that the county government has employed 413 supervisors and agripreneurs to collect data in the 30 administrative wards.
The Chairman of the Committee of Agriculture in the County Assembly, Mr. Julius Siele, promised to assist in the sensitization and mobilization of the farmers.
