Gusii Mwalimu Sacco Society Limited has unveiled Karibu Loan, a product launched to cater to new members who need instant loans.
Sacco’s CEO Jared Makori Moenga said that the move is aimed at bolstering the Sacco’s commitment to consistently design products that suit every individual need of each customer.
He said that the main advantage of the product is the efficiency in accessibility, cutting the waiting period for qualification from six months to zero.
According to the CEO, the introduction of the Karibu Loan will lift the new members economically as they cope with financial challenges.
The product is an addition to other innovative products like the Verve Card where they partnered with Inter-switch Company to allow members easy, secure and convenient access to their money.
Moenga said that the Sacco, which has cleared a milestone by establishing a one-stop customer information centre where members are served from one place, is also keen on saving time and energy by consolidating all customer care functions at a single interactive point.
Currently, the Sacco is refurbishing the Ogembo branch to create more space for Sacco offices as well as make room for other businesses that will earn them rental revenue. Other branches will also get the same treatment.
The CEO said that the Sacco is focusing on their core mandate of savings mobilization and lending, which is particularized by the establishment of five divisions and eleven departments to serve customers better.
“We are trying to work with the business community and other niches so that we can come up with products that can improve our services to members,” said the CEO.
