The Kericho County Commissioner for Cooperatives Leonard Otii has lauded Imarisha Sacco Board and the management team for its exceptional service.
He also hailed the society for embracing new communication technologies making it possible for members to access services from home during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I would like to to thank the board and all the management team of the society for investing in new technology which saw members access their money from their homes through their phones and other platforms, “he said.
He was speaking during the opening of the modern, state of the art, Customer Experience Centre at the Imarisha KEBO Plaza.
Otii added that Imarisha investments had greatly changed the face of Kericho and nothing prevents them from advocating for excellence in service delivery.
He was impressed by the international standards of facilities at the Customer Experience Centre, especially the call centre which will make it easier to satisfy needs of the growing number of clients in the diaspora.
The officer also congratulated Imarisha delegates whom he described as supportive of the new trends being adopted for the benefit of members and the community.
He encouraged them to continue looking for new members from various sectors which includes newly employed teachers by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
The cooperative officer advised delegates to educate members to take loans from the society because the more they borrow loans the more the vibrancy of their society.
He regretted that some societies which had not adopted new methods of transacting business were severely affected by Covid-19 restrictions while others had totally collapsed.
Among those Saccos are those drawing membership from the hospitality industry, which were among the hardest hit.
He advised the Imarisha marketing department to venture into other areas of the economy and attract members.
The officer told the board, delegates and staff to research on value addition of products that they had already launched so as to increase their appeal to the wider public.
