Kajiado Queens thrashes Nyanza Eagles in FKF Maisha league champions

Kajiado Queens FC,
representing Rift
Valley in the Maisha
County League national tournament,
beat Nyanza Province
to lift the cup.

County proud after scoring a
lone goal that shattered the
spirits of Nyanza Eagles at
Nyayo National Stadium before
First Lady, Margaret Kenyatta
who was Chief Guest.
Nyanza put up a spirited
fight to equalize but the
Queens sealed every loophole
to contain their rivals.
Kajiado Queens lifted the
cup and took home Sh1 million
prize money to boot.
The Maisha League which
started in all the 47 counties
countrywide under the hash
tag#KickOUTHIVstigma attracted
over 900 men teams
and 400 women teams.
“We hope that this initiative
will go a long way in using
football as a tool for social
change,” said Football Kenya
Federation CEO Robert Muthomi
during the launch.
The initiative brought together
players from different
sectors, that included the National
Aids Control Council,
Council of Governors, FKF,
National Aids and STI Control
Programme (Nascop),
Kuza, Biashara, Nephak Kenya,
SAUTI SKIKA and UNAIDS
