Machakos County Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has said he will revive Sacco societies.
In a speech read on his behalf by the Chief Officer at the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports Kennedy Auma, during celebrations to mark Ushirika Day, the Governor said there is a plan to make sure that Sacco societies in the County are active and productive and emphasized the great need for them to organize County cooperative forums to exchange ideas and enable bonding.
Patrick Katingima, Machakos Co-operative Union Chairman, noted that they have been embracing Information Technology to reach out to members and to even send short massages. “I am glad that we emerged the best managed Sacco in the County which is attributed to our team work,” he said.
