Fraudulent managers who swindle from Saccos will now be nabbed by the Sacco Societies Fraud Investigations Unit (SSFIU).
The much awaited unit is finally up and running, one and half years since President Uhuru Kenyatta directed that it be established in July 2019.
“The new unit is fashioned on the lines of the Banking Fraud Investigation Unit (BFIU) to deal with fraudsters within the Co-operative sector,” said Co-operatives Principal Secretary Ali Noor Ismail.
