- Thousands of young graduates have a new opportunity to gain experience through a government-backed programme.
- The recruitment covers a wide range of professions, with diploma holders also eligible for selected positions.
- Applicants face a November deadline and must meet specific graduation and internship eligibility requirements.
Young professionals in engineering, construction and real estate can now apply for 6,000 internship slots under the Affordable Housing Programme.
The Public Service Commission (PSC) announced the vacancies on behalf of the Ministry of Lands, through the State Department for Housing and Urban Development. The openings are for the second cohort of the internship programme.
Applications close on November 9, 2026. Candidates must submit them through the PSC job portal.
According to the notice, the programme is meant to give graduates practical experience in a real workplace. It will also sharpen their technical skills and prepare them to support housing projects across the country.
The vacancies span a wide range of professions. They include architecture, civil engineering, construction management, electrical and mechanical engineering, quantity surveying, structural engineering, health and safety, and land surveying.

Construction management graduates have the largest allocation, with 500 slots. Architecture graduates follow with 475, while mechanical engineering graduates have 350. Quantity surveying, structural engineering and health and safety professionals each get 300.
Diploma holders have not been left out. The PSC has set aside 330 slots for architectural assistants, 300 for quantity surveying assistants and 225 for structural assistants.
In addition, the notice lists openings for civil engineers, electrical engineers, land surveyors, valuers and urban planners.
To qualify, applicants need a degree or diploma from a recognised university, depending on the role. They must also have graduated in 2020 or later. Computer skills are required, and anyone who has already benefited from a similar internship programme is not eligible.
Successful candidates will serve for 12 months, and the term cannot be renewed. During that time, they will carry out duties assigned by their supervisors and take part in mentorship activities. The government will set their stipend, and each intern will receive a certificate after completing the programme.
