Qwetu Sacco has launched Bakisha Savings Account, a product aimed at increasing savings by encouraging members from across all sectors to embrace a saving culture.
The Account enables members and non-members to open an account where they can save from as low as Ksh5.
Speaking on Saturday during the 2023 Special Delegates Meeting (SDM) at Vacani Hotel in Voi which also marked the 57th anniversary of Qwetu Sacco, Sacco Chairman Alfred Mlolwa stated that the Account allows members from all sectors including retirees, farmers, county government, business community, security sector amongst others an opportunity to save any amount of money at any time.
“Bakisha Product is for everyone, be it business people, Boda boda operators, farmers, as long as you have something small to save, all sectors are catered for. Saccos are not for rich people, they make people rich,” he said.
Sacco CEO Charles Kaba said that members who wish to retain their savings in the Account are at liberty to do so adding that if the member wishes to take a Loan, the saved amount will be used as a qualification criteria to guarantee the loan.
