Sacco set to generate Sh1m rent income

Murang’a Women Sacco expects to generate Sh1 million in rent per month after the completion of a five storey hostel that has cost over Sh100 million.
The Sacco which has over 25,000 members started the construction of Muranga University hostels in 2015, two years after it was started.
Rose Waithigo, the Sacco Chairperson thanked the County Government for awarding tenders that have been the main source of revenue.
Members of the Sacco had only managed to contribute Sh11 million towards the project.
Governor Mwangi wa Iria donated land for the Sacco.
The hostel is located in the outskirts of Murang’a town. It has over 104 rooms and can accommodate 400 students.
According to Waithigo, it will be fully occupied after the September intake.
