Sakaja roots for a hustler Sacco

Nairobi county Governor Johnson Sakaja has said his administration is currently reviewing the County Cooperative Act to incorporate a hustler Sacco that will bring on board all small scale traders in Nairobi.

“We are reviewing our policy so that we can have the first hustler Sacco in Nairobi County so that small scale traders, hawkers and hustlers can belong to a Sacco movement,” Sakaja said.

Sakaja called on President William Ruto to increase the amount of hustler fund so that the organised groups and individual hustlers can borrow in the upwards of Ksh50,000 as systems were working.

The county boss said that the common mwananchi can be transformative in business if they access the hustler fund, especially those who are registered within Saccos.

“We can inspire our people to seek opportunities by coming together,” Sakaja said.

He thanked the President for consistently telling Kenyans to save as he did not want to plunge them into debts.
